Hilary Sifling grew up in a southwest suburb of Chicago, though her second home was the Field Museum of Natural History. After graduating from the University of Missouri-Columbia with a Bachelor’s degree in Animal Sciences and a Master’s Degree in Science Education, she settled down to teach high school science for over a decade. She started writing Amber’s Lure while supervising the school Dungeons and Dragons Club, and listening to her students drop words they would never dream of uttering in her classes.
Hilary now teaches eighth grade science in Jefferson City, MO. When she isn’t teaching, she is writing at the local Panera or working on the natural history museum that lives in her basement. She lives in Jefferson City with her husband, two sons, and four retired racing greyhounds.
